Beak School Breeder Standards
Breeders are never imported into this directory. They apply, and they agree to the standards below before we publish them. We are not in the room when birds are raised, so we tell you exactly what we checked and what we did not.
What every listed breeder agrees to
- Birds are fully weaned and eating on their own before they go to a new home.
- Chicks are raised in a clean space with room to move, climb, and use their wings.
- Every bird sees an avian vet when it needs one.
- Buyers get honest answers about the bird's age, hatch date, and health history.
- No bird is sold to a store or a broker for resale.
- Buyers can ask questions after the sale, and the breeder will help.
- Training advice given to buyers is force free and based on behavior, never on punishment.
- I will take a bird back if the buyer cannot keep it.
What the two labels mean
Verified Breeder
A person on our team looked at documents this breeder sent us, such as a license, a vet reference, or banding records. It means we saw paper. It is not a rating and it is not a promise about any single bird.
Listed Breeder
This breeder applied, signed the standards, and filled in their own details. We have not looked at documents. Many good breeders sit here, so read their page and ask them questions.
Questions worth asking a breeder
- May I visit, or may I see a live video of where the birds live?
- Is this bird fully weaned and eating by itself right now?
- What is the hatch date, and is the bird closed banded?
- Which avian vet do you use?
- What do you feed, and what will I need to feed at home?
- What help do you give me in the first month?
How to report a concern
Email beakschool@beautyofbirds.com with the breeder's name and what you saw. We read every report. If a report checks out, we remove the listing.
